What the heck is this?

  • Grind size: 1Zpresso QS @ 1.6 (3.6mm) 
  • Pre-grind anti-static water: 3 drops in with the beans
  • Water temperature: 88°
  • Funnel warming water: 400ml @ 88° 
  • Water hardness: medium (calcium carbonate 100–200ppm) 
  • Method: Tetsu Acidic and Light (52:38)
  • Beans: Origin Butembo


  • Alright alright alright a whole new week of coffee adventures there’s some big moon cups coming I can feel it
  • Bed clear in 3:10

Pours (target weight and time in parenthesis)

  • First (52g in 10s): 2g over 4s early two blooms for a penny right here 
  • Second (38g in 10s): 1g under
  • Third (135g in 10s): 3g over asleep at the wheel

Tasting Notes

Nose: More of a nutty chocolate with just a hint of orange zest

First taste: Got that smooth velvety cake vibe I am liking this. Tap to unwrap this chocolately orange morning, I tell ya. 

Second taste: Big bright juicy orange notes coming through, who will buy this wonderful feeling I’m so high I swear I could fly. 

Chocolate still getting dark on the way out maybe with like an 80-85% cocoa content god damn any milk today, mistress? 

Ngl I’m a Dairy Milk man so need to dial that back a smidge more but this is a good direction.
